Our Minister - The Reverend Jackie Clement

Welcome to the First Parish Church of Saugus. As a Unitarian Universalist community It is our mission to serve as a voice for liberal religion.

• To foster a caring community of wide cultural and religious diversity

• To provide a place for celebration, education, and evolving truth

• To draw strength and wisdom from our Jewish and Christian heritage and other religions of the world

• To affirm, defend, and promote the supreme worth and dignity of every human being and respect for life

• To encourage ethical conduct and service to our communities and to the world

In our Unitarian Universalist tradition we uphold the virtues of freedom, justice and love. We value freedom of belief, the use of reason and the right of individual conscience. We seek justice in all its many forms for all the people of the world. Our principles are based in love for all of humanity and for the interconnectedness of all life. From these principles I draw my philosophy of professional church leadership, one of shared ministry where minister, church staff and congregation collaborate to build a community where all are welcome, where all can be free to seek their spiritual path according to our free religious tradition.

As minister of First Parish, I am delighted to be sharing this path with such a wonderful and committed community of faith. Great things are in store! This is a time of marvelous possibilities and we would love to have you visit and get to know us better.
